Club racing takes place on a Sunday afternoon with the first race starting each Sunday at 12pm. The exception is the Club Champs that starts at 10am. Throughout the season the Club runs two points series (one before Christmas and one after Christmas). In addition it runs two trophy days and the Club Champs over two weekends.

| On the first Sunday of each month four short sprint races are scheduled.
Other Sundays (except "Club Champs") two races are the norm, sailed back-to-back, with a race typically taking 40 to 50 minutes.

|
| Scratch and Handicap competitions are run by divisions. There are two Point Series (Pre and Post Xmas), 26 races are scheduled (8 days) for the first series. The second series has 20 races scheduled. The following discards will apply: |

Autumn series
A separate scratch series sailed over five consecutive Sundays at the end of the regular season. The best six races count, the balance or races to be discarded. This series is open to all sailors from any club (Membership of the HSC is not required).Club champs
A two-day, seven-race series is raced on two consecutive Sundays. These form the Club champs. A Reserve day is also scheduled to allow for any cancelled races.
Please note that the fees for the Autumn Series are not covered by the standard HSC season race-entry fee.

Divisions
Entries are accepted from all centreboard and catamaran classes and allocated to appropriate divisions.
Qualifying races
A race must have two or more starters to qualify for the scratch and handicap competitions. Handicap competitions are within divisions, Scratch competitions are within classes. To validate a series, a division or class must start in at least half the number of races available.
Club medals
At the end of season prizegiving, a Club medal is awarded to the competitor in each class who achieves the most wins in the Points Series races, with two or more competitors.
